Tips

These are tips and rules you should consider when designing your podcast.

  • Plan what you have to say: Make a outline
  • Choose a quiet location
  • Eliminate as much external noise as possible
  • Do not use built in microphones that come with many laptops, purchase an external microphone
  • Practice reading your text
  • Position a lapel microphone slightly to the side of your mouth, because this can help soften the sound of the letters S and P
  • If you have a naturally quiet voice, increase the recording volume
  • Make your Podcast as intimate and conversational as possible The audio should only be as long as necessary, without rambling.
  • Add appropriate ID3 tags
  • Use podsafe royalty free music for intro and outro
  • Edit your recording to filter unwanted noises
  • What you have to say is just as important as how you say it: Provide engaging, informative content
  • Podcasting enables educators to use music and recorded audio to enhance learning. The addition of photos and video to podcasting allows educators to add a wide range of visual content to their teaching and address even more learning styles.
  • Podcasting is a powerful tool that allows for communication and distribution of educational content — content that can be synced to iPod for learning on the go. Podcasting is also an inexpensive way for schools and higher education institutions to share information.
